When it comes to overcoming tough challenges, award-winning author and speaker Larry Jacobson hasn’t just been around the block; he’s been around the world.

A California native, circumnavigator and adventurer, Larry Jacobson is an avid sailor with over 50,000 blue water miles under his keel. Author of the six-time award-winning memoir of his six-year circumnavigation, “The Boy Behind the Gate,” he also recently published “Navigating Entrepreneurship” in which he shares his own practical experience.

Larry is a two-time TEDx speaker, corporate leadership trainer, leads workshops for the SFPD, SFFD, and presented at the prestigious Commonwealth Club of San Francisco. His style is direct, witty, and he is well known for putting the objective of his audience first. Larry successfully transitioned from CEO to sailor and achieved his dream of sailing around the world. His next transition was from sailor to a six-time literary award-winning author and motivational speaker.

Now his company, Buoy Coaching, focuses on coaching programs that rethink and redefine retirement. The groundbreaking program, “Sail Into Retirement“- which combines home study and personal coaching – has quickly achieved notoriety in the field.
