The days go by quickly…!

A recent survey of baby boomers revealed how new retirees are truly feeling about retirement*:

  • Those who felt in control of their retirement cited physical health and emotional preparedness as key factors in their comfort, and that these were as important as having their finances in order. Are you emotionally ready?
  • 63 percent said they felt stressed about retiring. Are you stressed about how you’ll spend your time during retirement?
  • Forty percent enjoy volunteering as part of their retirement.
  • Seventy-five percent had some sort of financial plan, but less than 30% had a plan for how they would spend their time after leaving the workforce.

Are You Ready to

Are you ready to step into the NEW YOU, and start living purposefully and with passion!?

Today’s Retirement Situation – The Hard Truth

Most people approaching retirement have not thought about what happens after work-life ends, because the idea of losing one’s identity is terrifying.

Have you thought about it? Does it scare you? Does it make you uncomfortable?

When asked, “What will you do when you retire?” most people respond, “I don’t know,” or “sleep in, travel,” and “play their favorite sport.”

And then what?

Will you be satisfied with your time being absorbed
by television and condo association meetings?

Are you concerned that a life of meaning might slip by?

The time is NOW to commit to a life of true purpose and fulfillment. Don’t let it slip through your fingers!

Fact is, you are on your own with this one – you don’t have your parents or teachers – or a boss – push you to “make something of yourself”… to use your time “

Every day at work, you were valued, needed, respected, and were a contributor. What will you do when that steady flow of interaction upon which you thrive dries up? Will you be able to transition to tending your roses without difficulty?

Sail Into Retirement - HOW Will You Make Your Golden Years Fun, Purposeful, & Passion-Filled

Most people have difficulty with the transition and many fall into depression. It doesn’t have to be that way. Retirement doesn’t have to mean the end, but rather the beginning of renewal.

Will you retire or renew?

Retirees have a 40% higher probability
depression than non-retirees.*

Hopefully depression is not even remotely a concern for you – your life is OK; but
Is “OK” good enough…?

Will you settle for a life of “OK” for the next few decades, or are you ready to take action TODAY and bring about the transformation you need to make you feel alive and kickin’ again…?

The Difference Between Fiscal vs. Non-Fiscal Retirement Planning

Most people have a financial plan for retirement. Most do not have a non-fiscal plan. Maybe you have enough money to retire or perhaps you still need additional income. Either way, you are still faced with the question of: How will I spend my days… years? Without a course to follow, it’s easy to drift aimlessly.

THE KEY – Three Steps:

  1. Identify WHAT would make you happy? What are you passionate about and would give you a sense of fulfillment…?
  2. Create a bold plan for a life of passion and purpose
  3. Implement that plan!

Meet the Founder of the Sail Into Retirement Program:

Why Should You Listen To Larry?

Why Larry? What makes him the expert in the field?

The answer is simple: Because he developed the program based on his own Retirement Transformation Experience.

He is the trusted authority on non-fiscal retirement planning. Larry believes only in teaching what he knows, and turning your passion into your dream retirement is a field he knows very well.

He is a regular speaker on Retirement Life-Style Planning related topics at corporate training events, conferences, retreats… He was even invited – not once, but TWICE – to present his story at TEDx.

Larry Jacobson – the Perfect Model for Retiring in Style!

Indeed, Jacobson’s story is one we have all wanted to live…

At the age of 13, Jacobson taught himself to sail in a tiny boat on Alamitos Bay, in Long Beach. From that day forward, he dreamed of sailing around the world as captain of his own boat.

But then life happened. He grew up and entered the corporate world, but never lost the passion for his dream.

After 20 years in business as a vice-president, president, and CEO, he decided that was enough. He exited the corporate world, and 33 years after first stepping foot in that tiny sailboat, Jacobson sailed out the Golden Gate on a six-year journey around the world. He followed his passion and made his dream come true.

Loss of identity is the most difficult
issue for most new retirees

“The hardest part was letting go of my identity,” says Jacobson, “Who I was, who I had created myself to be during a 20-year business career. I felt valued, important, and that I was contributing. Leaving that all behind was the most difficult decision of all.”

Yet, while searching for happiness in the distant corners of the globe, he realized it wasn’t only achieving his dream that gave him satisfaction. The true feeling of growth, reward, and self-actualization came from inspiring others to achieve their dreams.

After writing his award-winning memoir, The Boy Behind the Gate, Jacobson began sharing his motivational message through speaking and coaching. Today his motivation and satisfaction come from helping you find your passion, plan an amazing retirement, and achieving your dreams.

Don’t Call it Retirement – Redefine it Your Way

“How did you do it? How did you get through the fears, the decision-making, the risks, and the letting go of your former business life identity?” – These are the questions Jacobson gets most frequently, referring to his Sail Boat Voyage around the globe…

Jacobson Reverse-Engineered his Goal Setting Process, and Now He is Sharing it With You!

In response to countless of people asking him these questions, Jacobson went to work…

He spent a year reverse engineering the process he experienced, analyzing every step of the way from leaving his career to sailing out the Golden Gate. He knows the questions to ask, in what order to ask them, and he knows how to get results. Because he actually did it.

LESSON 1: Your Vision

target fantasy-2770468_640

This is YOUR chance at a new beginning!

We have all entertained ideas of reinventing ourselves, of having a chance to live life differently and by our own rules. If you could do anything, what would it be?

In this first lesson, you will find OR confirm your true passion, develop the details, and discover how it can merge with your current skills, knowledge and expertise you bring from your career and work life.

What you learn or confirm about your desires will be the basis for what you will learn to achieve. We are each given one great opportunity at life, and this is your time to ensure you live that life to its fullest potential.

What are you going to do with the rest of your life? After Module One, you’ll know the answer.

“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed
by the things you didn’t do
than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the
trade-winds in your sales. Explore, dream, discover!

~ Mark Twain ~

LESSON 2: Turning Your Vision into Goals

Goals are like bowling pins. You can knock them down one at a time or all at once. We’ll turn your dream retirement life into a series of goals and begin knocking them down. It’s difficult to comprehend a plan for the next chapter of your life. Many people don’t make a plan because often the dream is too big and therefore seems overwhelming.

In this module, you’ll learn how to diffuse the overwhelming feelings by creating an implementable action plan and then taking the first step of that plan. Your dream retirement life will materialize one step at a time as you achieve the smaller goals you’ll set.

This lesson will focus on making the biggest dream you thought impossible by achieving manageable smaller goals. Almost every big dream appears too big until you realize it starts with just one step. After beginning the work from this lesson, you will feel like you are on a roll…

 “Man cannot discover new oceans
unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
~ Andre Gide ~

LESSON 3: Your Personal SWOT Analysis

When was the last time you analyzed yourself or something you were doing for yourself? I mean truly analyzing it in depth. You most likely have done this in your career life for your work role, your department, company, or even industry.

In this lesson you’ll take a thorough in-depth look at yourself, and you’ll identify what may or may not affect achieving your goals. We‘ll be applying a powerful business tool to your personal life, which will enable you to analyze your personal Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats to your vision and goals.

You’ll learn to take advantage of your Strengths and Opportunities and let go of, or work around, your Weaknesses and Threats.

Once you’ve completed this analysis, it’s just a matter of applying the logic. And yes, you’re going to learn that too.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to
make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~

LESSON 4: Assess Your Risks

Is the Risk Worth the Reward?

All dreams, projects, and new ventures contain some form of risk. We all know the “rule”: No risk, no reward – and usually the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.

In this module, you’ll learn to analyze the risks of every vision, goal, and step you intend to go for, and determine if the risks are worth taking.

Risks are often worth taking, and analyzing them first will provide the courage you need to go out on a limb. After this lesson, you’ll know how to come to a conclusion about whether to take the risks associated with your goals.

Do you know the #1 obstacle to most people achieving their big dreams? You’ll know after this lesson and it isn’t what you think.

Take a chance!  All life is a chance.
The person who goes farthest is generally the one who is willing
to do and dare. The “sure thing” boat never gets far from shore.”
~ Dale Carnegie ~

LESSON 5: Identifying Your Priorities and Letting Them Guide Your Decisions

Why are you stalling on decisions about your retirement life?

Decision-making was part of your everyday professional life, so why is it so hard in your personal life?

You used a system to make decisions during your career life. It may not have been an official system, but you used one. In this module, you’ll learn to use your own priorities to guide your decisions.

New decisions about your life will come so much easier after you implement this super simple system. You’ll identify and confirm what your priorities are and begin right away using them to help you make life-affecting decisions.

We were taught many things throughout life, but it’s doubtful anybody ever taught you a system for decision-making. It’s never too late to learn and this is the module where you’ll master this life-transforming skill.

“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~

LESSON 6: Managing Your Fears

victory matterhorn-2592947_640

Learn to Use Fear to Your Advantage

Making any transition in life can be scary, especially one that involves the opportunity to start again. Fear often causes paralysis in making decisions and handling the ups and downs of life.

In this module you’ll learn to identify the source of your big stumbling block, called FEAR; and how to use it to your advantage to move forward.

After this lesson you won’t let fear or any other obstacle stand in the way of achieving the retirement life you desire. This lesson was made famous in one of the TEDx talks delivered by Larry Jacobson… and, yes, you’ll be able to watch the TEDx talk too, within this lesson.

“There is a time to take counsel of your fears,
and there is a time to never listen to any
~ General George S. Patton ~

LESSON 7: Keeping a Positive Perspective

attitude glass-300558_640

Attitude is Everything!

Many new retirees fall into depression within the first year of letting go of their work life. That won’t happen to you because you’ll know how to intercept a bad attitude or less than positive perspective.

Forward movement needs a Positive Perspective and you’ll learn how to find that in almost every situation you encounter. You often have no control over what and when events and circumstances happen. However, you can control how you react to them. That reaction is your perspective and you’ll learn specific techniques to always be able to tweak your attitude and see the positive side of most things.

This is a critical lesson for new retirees.

“You don’t stop laughing because you grow older.
You grow older because you stop laughing.”
~ Maurice Chevalier ~

LESSON 8: Perseverance - Sticking with It

perseverance board-2470557_640

Perseverance is a Learned Trait… and Key to Achieving Your Goals!

Do you have the perseverance it takes to start something new and stick with it?  Do you have the tenacity to keep going, even when the going gets tough? Do difficult circumstances easily dissuade you from continuing?

After this lesson, you won’t just take your first step in a new direction – you’ll keep going with newly found strength and tenacity toward your dream retirement life.

You aren’t born with tenacity; you learn it from practice. By the end of this lesson, you’ll be in the habit of calling on your perseverance trait when you want it, not just when you need it.

“Perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragement, and impossibilities:
it is this that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.”
~ Thomas Carlyle ~

LESSON 9: Commit to Staying the Course

Show Your Commitment to Your Plan of Action

Think about how many commitments you made to your professional career. Think about how many times those obligations meant sacrificing your personal promises to yourself, friends, and family. This time the commitment is to you and your vision.  It’s your turn to invest fully in your Own Success!

You will complete the course with confidence in your Plan of Action. You’ll take the first step in that plan knowing the rest is going to follow. You will be one of the few with an actual plan for your retirement years  ahead, and this lesson will teach you the skills to keep your commitment to that plan.

This course is much more than just studying. It is learning to implement the new knowledge you’ll acquire, and to put you on a course toward the life of your dreams.

“I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.”
