Larry Jacobson – the Perfect Model for Retiring in Style!

Indeed, Jacobson’s story is one we have all wanted to live…

At the age of 13, Jacobson taught himself to sail in a tiny boat on Alamitos Bay, in Long Beach. From that day forward, he dreamed of sailing around the world as captain of his own boat.

But then life happened. He grew up and entered the corporate world, but never lost the passion for his dream.

After 20 years in business as a vice-president, president, and CEO, he decided that was enough. He exited the corporate world, and 33 years after first stepping foot in that tiny sailboat, Jacobson sailed out the Golden Gate on a six-year journey around the world. He followed his passion and made his dream come true.

LESSON 2: Turning Your Vision into Goals

Goals are like bowling pins. You can knock them down one at a time or all at once. We’ll turn your dream retirement life into a series of goals and begin knocking them down. It’s difficult to comprehend a plan for the next chapter of your life. Many people don’t make a plan because often the dream is too big and therefore seems overwhelming.

In this module, you’ll learn how to diffuse the overwhelming feelings by creating an implementable action plan and then taking the first step of that plan. Your dream retirement life will materialize one step at a time as you achieve the smaller goals you’ll set.

This lesson will focus on making the biggest dream you thought impossible by achieving manageable smaller goals. Almost every big dream appears too big until you realize it starts with just one step. After beginning the work from this lesson, you will feel like you are on a roll…

LESSON 4: Assess Your Risks

Is the Risk Worth the Reward?

All dreams, projects, and new ventures contain some form of risk. We all know the “rule”: No risk, no reward – and usually the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.

In this module, you’ll learn to analyze the risks of every vision, goal, and step you intend to go for, and determine if the risks are worth taking.

Risks are often worth taking, and analyzing them first will provide the courage you need to go out on a limb. After this lesson, you’ll know how to come to a conclusion about whether to take the risks associated with your goals.

LESSON 3: Your Personal SWOT Analysis

When was the last time you analyzed yourself or something you were doing for yourself? I mean truly analyzing it in depth. You most likely have done this in your career life for your work role, your department, company, or even industry.

In this lesson you’ll take a thorough in-depth look at yourself, and you’ll identify what may or may not affect achieving your goals. We‘ll be applying a powerful business tool to your personal life, which will enable you to analyze your personal Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats to your vision and goals.

You’ll learn to take advantage of your Strengths and Opportunities and let go of, or work around, your Weaknesses and Threats.

Once you’ve completed this analysis, it’s just a matter of applying the logic. And yes, you’re going to learn that too.

LESSON 5: Identifying Your Priorities and Letting Them Guide Your Decisions

Why are you stalling on decisions about your retirement life?

Decision-making was part of your everyday professional life, so why is it so hard in your personal life?

You used a system to make decisions during your career life. It may not have been an official system, but you used one. In this module, you’ll learn to use your own priorities to guide your decisions.

New decisions about your life will come so much easier after you implement this super simple system. You’ll identify and confirm what your priorities are and begin right away using them to help you make life-affecting decisions.

We were taught many things throughout life, but it’s doubtful anybody ever taught you a system for decision-making. It’s never too late to learn and this is the module where you’ll master this life-transforming skill.

Learn to Use Fear to Your Advantage

In this module you’ll learn to identify the source of your big stumbling block, called FEAR; and how to use it to your advantage to move forward.

LESSON 7: Keeping a Positive Perspective

Attitude is Everything!

Many new retirees fall into depression within the first year of letting go of their work life. That won’t happen to you because you’ll know how to intercept a bad attitude or less than positive perspective.

Forward movement needs a Positive Perspective and you’ll learn how to find that in almost every situation you encounter. You often have no control over what and when events and circumstances happen. However, you can control how you react to them. That reaction is your perspective and you’ll learn specific techniques to always be able to tweak your attitude and see the positive side of most things.

This is a critical lesson for new retirees.

LESSON 8: Perseverance - Sticking with It

Perseverance is a Learned Trait… and Key to Achieving Your Goals!

Do you have the perseverance it takes to start something new and stick with it? Do you have the tenacity to keep going, even when the going gets tough? Do difficult circumstances easily dissuade you from continuing?

After this lesson, you won’t just take your first step in a new direction – you’ll keep going with newly found strength and tenacity toward your dream retirement life.

You aren’t born with tenacity; you learn it from practice. By the end of this lesson, you’ll be in the habit of calling on your perseverance trait when you want it, not just when you need it.
